Canada adds 79,000 jobs in December

Recent reports show that Canada added 79,000 jobs in December 2017 pushing the jobless rate to its lowest level sence 1976. According to Statistics Canada the jobless rate in Canada now sits at 5.7 percent, the lowest in 42 years!

Alberta alone added 26,300 jobs during the same time period and the unemployment rate dropped from 7.3 percent to 6.9 percent. This is a significant drop in the unemployment rate compared to the same month in 2016. 

The major areas of growth for employment were in natural resources, construction, and manufacturing services.
